WHAT IS

CROSSFIT?

CrossFit is defined as “constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensities which produces increased work capacity across broad modal and time domains”

CONSTANTLY VARIED

Life is not routine. Your training regime should not be either. By changing workouts on a daily basis we are preparing you for anything that life may throw at you.

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT

Movements that are seen in everyday life. Squatting is standing up from sitting, deadlifting is picking something up from the floor.

HIGH INTENSITY

Whatever you want from exercise comes faster with intensity. Do more work in less time (without overdoing it), and you’ll get fitter faster.

BROAD MODAL DOMAINS

Running, rowing, lifting, jumping and throwing are all examples of different modal domains. We train all of them equally to create rounded athletes.

BROAD TIME DOMAINS

Broad time domains refer to the length of duration of effort. Whether that be five seconds, five minutes or one hour.

I've been going to CrossFit Wrexham for a few months now and absolutely love it. Really friendly place with great coaches - it's like having a personal trainer every session. This is the only workout that has given me the results I've been looking for and quickly - don't be put off by all the big weights etc there's loads of ladies of all ages and fitness levels - give it a go you may just love it as much as I do!!

I started CrossFit in April 2016, not to lose weight but body fat. When I started I couldn't do a pull up. I had very poor upper body strength. Now the hard work is paying off , body fat down and pull ups on the increase !! Great atmosphere with great coaches.

 

February 2017, 10 months in and down a waist size in jeans, I've not been a 32in waist since I was a teenager. All down to working hard and the quality coaching you get here.

I've been coming to CrossFit Wrexham since June 2016 I can honestly say it's the best thing I've done for my health and fitness. You'll never get bored in seven months I'm pretty sure I've not done the same WOD (work out of the day twice!) everything is scalable. I love the Olympic weight lifting and feel stronger each week I'd never done any kind of lifting but soon picked it up.
